Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. Of course, it is also one of the most commonly skipped meals. Why? It’s probably because we don't always feel like preparing a gourmet breakfast when we get up. It might be because most people aren't morning people or it could be that with the there simply isn't enough time to cook a good breakfast and get to work on time.

Regardless of the reasons, utilizing your slow cooker can be a great way to make sure you have a delicious and filling meal ready and waiting for you the next morning!

Timing: One important consideration is the time it takes for meals prepared with a slow cooker or crock pot. Many recipes recommend 8 hours on low or 4-6 hours on high. Think about what time you want to eat breakfast and count backwards from there! For example if you want an 8 AM breakfast, you'd need to start the slow cooker around midnight.

Solutions: Place the ingredients in the ceramic portion of the crock pot and put it in the refrigerator until you're ready to cook. This way when you get up to take your dogs out for their midnight potty break, or take a midnight potty break of your own, you just need to take it out of the fridge and turn on the crock pot!

There are many different ideas for slow cooker breakfasts, but one of the absolute easiest is a type of omelette or egg casserole.

Simply put in the number of eggs you would use in a typical omelette for your family. Add in your favorite omelette ingredients such as diced onions, veggies, milk, and cheese.

Additionally you can add in bacon, sausage patties or links, or other meats.
